A Maison between Switzerland and Morocco.

Founded by Khalida Toukkani, the Maison refines its designs in Switzerland and brings them to life in its own atelier in Morocco. From first sketch to finished piece, wool, weaving, washing and finishing answer to the same standard.

Designing without erasing what the hand already knows.

Khalida’s path runs from Morocco to Paris to Switzerland. Along the way, she trained in interior design, upholstery, woodwork and M’rirt weaving. That breadth shapes the Maison’s eye: a rug is surface, volume, rhythm and intimate architecture at once.

The Maison’s approach

Wool first.

Maison Tóukkani works between two landscapes. In Morocco, wool carries the memory of the hand and the M’rirt tradition. In Switzerland, the design is measured, edited and given room to breathe. Between the two, the design gains weight, texture and time: contemporary in composition, patient in the making.

The question behind the piece

Her work returns to a question: how can ancestral knowledge enter a contemporary interior without turning into a decorative motif? The answer takes shape through proportion, material and trust in the hand.

Khalida designs each piece to be lived with. It may anchor a sitting room, quieten a bedroom, give depth to a hall or turn a wall into a place for listening. Beauty follows, once the piece has found its purpose.

Material and craft

The work starts with wool and follows what it can do. The Maison studies its grain, its density, the way a color warms in sunlight and the way relief changes as light moves across a room.

We develop the design in Switzerland and give it form in Morocco through weaving, knotting, washing, drying and hand finishing. Depending on the project, our weavers work in flat weave, raised pile or hand-knotting. Technique follows form and use.

From origin to interior

The design passes through many hands before it enters a room.

Design

Proportion, rhythm and presence are first defined through the language of the place.

Weave

The design meets natural wool and the weavers of our Moroccan atelier.

Finish

Washing, drying and finishing reveal the final texture, with the nuances of handcraft.
