Maison Tóukkani · Practical guide
Large-scale rugs
At large scale, a rug becomes almost architectural. A proportion error becomes more visible, but the right composition can unify an entire volume.
Which size works for the room?
Before discussing motif, measure axes, openings, fixed furniture and circulation. On a large piece, a few centimetres of margin can completely change the relationship to the floor.
Three points to check
- Work from a dimensioned plan
- Check access and installation
- Test the design at the scale of the volume
The Maison’s point of view
For monumental formats, the Maison works from the plan and checks how the design reads at real scale before fabrication.
For a real project, these references should always be tested against plans, light, use and the constraints of place. The Maison then confirms material, dimensions and feasibility through Project Desk.
